字幕陈述速度研究

数字

专家们对书写数字的规则并没有达成共识。字幕师应该遵循一个标准的格式手册。记住要做到始终一致，或使用以下这些相对详细的概述。

拼写出来1. 除非下面另有说明，否则请将1到10之间所有数字拼写出来，但对于10以上都要使用数字。比如：

不恰当

The fifty-four DVDsneed to be shelved.

恰当

The 54 DVDsneed to be shelved.

不恰当

He's at the thirty, the twenty,and scores!

恰当

He's at the 30, the 20,and scores!

2. 拼写出句子开头的任何数字以及相关的数字。比如：Two hundred guestsand eleven guides entered.

3. 拼写出随意、不做强调的数字。比如：He gave mehundreds of reasons.

4. 四位数的数字可以有逗号，也可以没有。在整个媒体制作过程中保持一致。对于超过5位数的数字，必须要有逗号。

5. 如果一个或多个数字在10以上，并且出现在一条字幕或一句话中，则该处都使用数字。

6. 提到技术和运动术语时，使用数字。比如：He scored 3 goalsin today's game!

7. 表示顺序时，名词首字母要大写，后接数字符号。例外情况包括表示行、注、页、段、码、步或节（line, note, page, paragraph, size, step, or verse）。比如：Building 2、page 31、Channel 5、size 12、Chapter III、step 3、Room 438、paragraph 2

日期

1. 提到一个月中的某一天时，使用数字加上小写 "th"、"st"或"nd"(没有提到月份)。

比如：字幕写成Bob went fishingon the 9th.原始陈述“ninth”

2. 日期在月份之前，如果陈述出"th"、"st" 或"nd"这种结尾，写字幕时则用数字加上其小写形式。

比如：字幕写成My birthday isthe 17th of June.原始陈述“seventeenth”

3. 日期在月份之后，则单独使用数字。

比如：字幕写成I will meet youon May 9.原始陈述“nine”或“ninth”

4. 表达月、日、年组合，即使陈述“日”时加上了“th”、“st”或“nd”结尾，也只用数字来表示“日”。比如：字幕写成Paul will marry on July 6, 1996.原始陈述“six”或“sixth”

时间

1. 只用数字表明一天中的时间。

比如：I awoke at 5:17. If you wish to attend,you must arrive by 6:25 p.m. We were expected to reportno later than 1400 hours. I awoke at 4 o'clock.

2. 缩写“a.m.”或“p.m.”的前面要使用数字。a.m.或p.m.前使用整数时，不需要使用双零来表示分钟数。

比如：

She leaves at 3:20 p.m.for the airport.

Our hours arefrom 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We're leavingat 6 in the morning.

时段

1. 十年应该标注为"the 1980s"(而不是"the 1980's")和 "the '50s"(而不是"the 50's")。

2. 如果十年或世纪作为名词，不要用连字符。比如：This vase isfrom the 17th century.

3. 如果时段作为形容词，需用连字符。比如：This 19th-century paintingwas done by Van Gogh.

分数

1. 对于分数，要么拼写出来，要么用数字表示。在整个媒体中始终坚持该准则。如果使用数字，请在整数与其分数之间插入空格。

比如：使用数字Do you planto eat 1 ? pizzas?

把分数拼写出来Do you plan to eatone and one-half pizzas?

2. 同一句子中，拼写和数字不要混用。

比如：不恰当Malika is 13and a half years old.恰当Malika is13 ? years old.

3. 如果分数和"million"、"billion"、"trillion"这类词一起使用，就把分数拼出来。

比如：The population wasover one-half million.4. 分数用数字表示时，不要出现“sts”、“rds”、“nds”或“ths”后缀。

比如：不恰当3/10ths恰当3/10

百分比1. 除句首外，其余均用数字和百分号来表示百分比。比如：句中Only 6% of the voteswere counted.句首Fifty-one percent of the peoplevoted "yes."

金额

1. 一美金以下用数字加"cents"或"￠"形式。比如：I need 15 cents.I owe you 32￠.

2. 对于100万美元以下的金额，用美元符号加上数字。整笔金额在100万美元及以上时，应拼出“million”、“billion”等。比如：John brought only $11.Bob brought $6.12.The budget of $13,000 will be sufficient.Taxes will be reduced by a total of $13 million.He owes $13,656,000.

3. 范围最高到十美金时，“dollar”只能用一次。比如：I hope to findthree or four dollars.

4. 书写字幕的金额范围超过十美金时，使用美元符号和数字结合的方式。比如：Alice expected a raiseof $6,000 to $7,000.

测量

1. 拼出测量单位，如“英寸”、“英尺”、“码”、“英里”、“盎司”、“磅”和“汤匙”（ "inches","feet", "yards","miles","ounces","pounds", and "tablespoons"）。如果读出的是缩写形式，就应该使用符号。举个例子，如果原始陈述是 "I'm five eight"，字幕就应该写成I'm 5'8"。

2. 整数则使用数字。比如，字幕应该写成 "3 cups of sugar"，而不是 "three cups of sugar"。
